Item Type Weapon
Artifact? Yes
Weight 13s
Danger Level Unknown
Material Nonmetallic

The whip of the vampire snake is a non-guaranteed one-handed artifact weapon. Its to-hit, damage, and Dexterity and speed bonuses gradually increase as it is used to damage monsters, but drop back to their base values over time. It appears as a whip when unidentified, but can be distinguished from normal whips by its unusual weight.

Constructs, insects, jellies, plants, undead, dwarven chaos knights, chaos knights, molochs, greater molochs, and emperor molochs, apparently do not have blood, and thus will not power up this weapon.

Desirability[edit source]

It is a decent weapon at its base stats, and grows rapidly in power when fighting large groups of monsters. One of the best weapons in the game when charged up.

Guaranteed/Common sources[edit source]

It can be granted as a precrowning gift or a reward for making use of a potion of uselessness, generated in a surge of power or greater vault, or generated as random loot (albeit very rarely).
