Werewolf kings are rare, powerful monsters in ADOM. They usually can be encountered only in high-DL areas.
Werewolf kings are among the toughest melee-oriented opponents in the game. They have high damage, multiple attacks and sufficient DV and PV. Moreover, they have very high speed, 150 on average, further boosting their damage output, as well as significantly lowering the chance to escape.
Werewolf kings can summon wolves, dire wolves, silver wolves, as well as werewolves and werewolf lords which are summoners themselves. This can lead to a huge amount of monsters to deal with, which is either an annoyance or a life-saver allowing the PC to flee werewolf king itself.
Invisibility is of great use against werewolf kings. They are also vulnerable to humanoid slaying ammunition, as well as artifact weapons Vanquisher, Skullcrusher, Kinslayer, Serpent's Bite and Executor.

Monster memory[]
A pair of yellow eyes glares at you from the dark. You feel an odd dread within you, a primal fear rising within. A figure detaches from the darkness, radiating menace. As it studies you while emitting a low growl, you take in its enormous size. While it towers above you at a height of nearly nine feet, you resist the urge to run. It seems half-man, half-wolf... Its paws --or are they hands?!-- end in sharp claws, which gleam darkly. You ready yourself, for should you try to flee, there could be only one outcome...
