I think it's time to reopen the old debate of one-vs-many articles for different versions of weapons (See Talk:Long_sword for the old discussion).

Here's my current thinking, comparing Mithril longsword (removed red link Ln (talk) 15:44, January 25, 2016 (UTC)) to (iron) Longsword (removed red link Ln (talk) 15:44, January 25, 2016 (UTC)). They have:

  1. different names
  2. different stats
  3. different DLs
  4. different metals
  5. different weights
  6. different rarity

On the other hand, here's the list of things they have in common:

  1. they're both named as "long swords".
  2. They both train the weapon skill "swords".

So, where do we draw the line? Separate articles for swords? All "long swords" together? All "swords" together? All weapons together? In your opinion, where is the line? And why is it there? Ascyron 05:20, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

Edit as of 15.10.2017 Edit

Hey, User:Wigdaddy, I'm reverting your edit for now for two reasons: so far we kinda agreed to keep the closed release things under wrap (check it out here). Additionally, the base item is just a staff of pain, of the sun is a simple prefix (which explains the undead double damage). For now you can add your findings here, here or here. Thanks for your understanding. Ln (talk) 09:35, October 16, 2017 (UTC)
