|Sees in the dark?||Yes|
|Magic resistance||Very high|
Steel golems are monsters in ADOM. One steel golem is found in the Non-Descript Cavern, and many more are found in Darkforge underneath; but no other steel golems are found in the game save for wishing.
Steel golems are construct humanoids that breathe fire, and are generally very powerful in melee combat. They have a lot of PV, especially compared to other monsters of a similar danger level; so are best dealt with either penetrating weapons or weapons of construct or humanoid slaying. Better still, due to their weakness to shock the Lightning Ball spell can deal huge amounts of damage if the PC can cast it. (Lightning bolts also deal huge damage, of course; but steel golems are very likely to shrug these off). They are immune to fire.
- Immune to fire
- Vulnerable to shock
- Very often shrugs off bolts and other resistible magic
- Immune to petrification
- Breathes fire
- Ignores traps
- Construct abilities
- Cannot be sacrificed
- Immune to death rays, stunning, blindness, paralysis, and poison
- Immune to telepathic mindcraft
The monster memory lists typical stats for steel golems as:
DV: 8, PV: 35, Hits: 180, Attacks: 1, Damage: 31-62, Speed 100.
Constructs can't leave corpses.
This mighty construct has been crafted from bright, burnished steel. Each piece of it is masterfully crafted. Every motion is mechanical and precise, joints turning smoothly and silently. A bright furnace heat radiates from its eyes.
