Staff of corruption dissemination is a melee weapon and one of the Magic staves. When zapped, it emits a 4/3/1 radius burst of corruption, depending on B/U/C status. The PC and monsters within the radius will be corrupted, and items on the ground have a chance to be cursed. Fully corrupting a monster takes 2-18 zaps of a blessed staff (more for an uncursed or cursed one), with the exact number depending on the size of the monster.

The staff has typical stats of (+0, 1d10). As with all of the magic staves, it can be generated with prefixes and suffixes.

Staves of corruption dissemination can occasionally be useful to curse items that are more valuable with that status, such as potions of raw chaos, potions of invisibility, and potions of raw mana. They are not sufficiently corrupting to be of use against problematic monsters.

Guaranteed/Common sources[]

They can be found in the same ways as any generic loot.
