Sling of the long shot is an improved version of slings. Compared to generic slings they have +2 to hit and +7 initial range, and seem to about double other sling related bonuses (exact formula needs further research).
It is possible to use potions with slings, though their range is not affected by the direct bonus of slings of the long shot; base range of potion thrown either by sling or by hand is 3 tiles (though slings can receive further bonuses through skill marks and talents like Proficiency with slings).
Desirability[]
Due to good range and rocks being very common, slings of the long shot are rather reliable weapons for characters specializing in missile weapons. In 1.2.0 and later versions bullets with slaying powers can be obtained, which improves sling skill potential in the late game.
