Scrolls of monster detection are Scrolls that, when read, display the location of every monster on the level for one turn.
Cursed scrolls, however, do not show every monster.
Desirability[]
These can be used to locate certain monsters within a dungeon level, such as the cat lord or whoever is making the *THUMB* noise, or determine the general dangerousness of, for instance, a Dwarven Halls level or a vault. Uninformed players often become dead players.
