Schwarzzahn, the great gray wyrm, presides over the Merchant Guild. Teleportation within the guild is prevented as long as the wyrm lives. If the wyrm is blinded, every few turns its eyes will glow — causing more eternium golems to appear at the entrance of the guild.

Schwarzzahn is vulnerable to the Slow Monster spell, although he will ignore the spell most of the times. However, casting it does not make him hostile, so it is safe to do before actually attacking him. High speed, blinding him with cursed potions of invisibility and being able to deal massive damage in melee helps in taking him down. Penetrating weapons are also helpful. Mindcrafters can confuse him and take him down with Greater Telekinetic Blast.

When attacking him, the player needs to cope with a large amount of dangerous eternium golems. One strategy is to use the Unpick axe to wall in the room with the wyrm and 4 golems - although this also prevents the player from running away. For extremely quick and powerful characters, it is possible to dispatch Schwarzzahn before his first turn. The guild will remain non-hostile in this case while teleport-stealing the artifacts will become possible.

Schwarzzahn is German for "black tooth".

This wyrm is huge. Truly huge. Its dark gray scales seem to be harder than granite (from their looks) and its body is nothing but incredibly massive. Despite that it moves with a snake-like elegance you've never before seen in a dragon or any other kind of being. Its internal furnace radiates such heat that the wyrm's presence can be felt just by the rising temperature around it. Massively muscled legs and claws scratch over the ground as it moves and wings with an incredible span move the air although it is pretty unmoving right now. But its gaze... oh those eyes... so terrible... they pierce your very soul and seem to understand even the most secret of secrets you buried deep within your mind. Those sparkling, brilliant eyes make it appear omnisentient.
