Red dragon scale mail is a somewhat rare type of body armor in ADOM. It has typical stats of (-1, -4) [-1, +13], though slight variations may sometimes occur. It also grants fire immunity whilst worn, meaning that the PC cannot be injured by fire (though this does not cover his/her inventory).
Dragon scale mails do not seem to receive magical prefixes or suffixes.
Desirability[]
Red dragon scale mail is one of the most desired types of armor in the game, boasting very high PV on par with eternium plate mail and a full elemental immunity. It is high on the wish list for PCs attempting to tackle the Tower of Eternal Flames, and retains its utility later in the game too especially when the PC is faced with (greater) vaults of red dragons. Unlike eternium armor, however, it is possible to have dragon armor destroyed by acid (although this is generally very rare).

When used in melee combat it grants a -1 bonus to hit and causes 1d6+1 points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a -4 bonus to hit and causes 1d6+2 points of damage. It grants immunity to fire.
