Potions of uselessness are peculiar potions that have no effect when drunk (besides slight satiation), thrown at enemies or are used for dipping. They do not have much worth in gold either.
The first time the PC uses a potion of uselessness as a missile for propulsion on D:49, they are awarded a random artifact for their ingenuity.

Potentially extremely useful, but only very late in the game.

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. There are no guaranteed sources of potions of uselessness.
