Potions of raw mana increase the PC's PP regeneration rate, unless they are cursed in which case they decrease the PP regeneration rate. When thrown at monsters, they act like potions of invisibilty of appropriate status.

The PP regeneration rate of the PC is defined as the number of turns required to regenerate 1 PP, and can be seen via the revelation spell or a potion of insight. It is worth noting that PP regeneration rate appears to be capped at 1 point of PP regeneration every 5 turns; beyond that point, drinking further potions of raw mana has no apparent effect.

Unlike potions of mana, they will not recharge wands that are dipped in them.

They are somewhat useful to all spellcasters, until they have maxed out their PP regeneration rate. Concentration has a much greater effect regardless. In the absence of Concentration, all other means of increasing PP regeneration are crucial for anyone who wants to casts spells more often.

Cursed potions of raw mana will blind monsters when thrown, making them a potential disabler. Non-immune monsters will never resist the effects of a cursed potion of raw mana.
