Potions of gain attributes are potions that, when drunk, raise the PC's attributes. Uncursed potions raise one random stat by one, while blessed potions raise all stats by one. Cursed potions reduce a random stat. Only one potion of gain attributes can be blessed using one potion of holy water.

Potions of gain attributes do not increase stat potentials, except if the stat was at its potential already — in which case it is increased by one (along with stat itself, e.g. 18/18 turn into 19/19), since potential can never be lower than the actual natural stat.

Desirability[]

Very desirable. Having better stats means having an easier game. Unluckily these come one per wish, so wishing for them is more of a waste. It is better to instead wish for potions of your main stat, as that will result in two potions; this wish can yield a +4 stat increase if holy water is used, which is generally more valuable than +1 for all stats including Appearance or Charisma.

Whether you want the boost right now, or whether you want to save the potion until you're more or less finished raising stats in other ways, is entirely up to you.

Guaranteed/Common sources[]

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot, and as reward for some quests, including most notably (because of the high amount of potions received) the Kill Yrruir quest. The dwarven mystic might give one to neutral PCs, and as of version 1.2.0 a pile of potions can be gained by slaying the minotaur emperor.

Potions of gain attributes can also be made by characters with 100 points in the Alchemy skill, although the components required to make it tend to be fairly rare and valuable potions.
