Plain blankets only have one use: covering pits.
Note that due to a bug in ADOM versions prior to 1.2.0, covering a pit with a blanket actually transforms the trap instead of specifically creating a covered pit, with the same effect as using a wand of trap creation on the square.
Desirability[]
If the player needs to cover a pit, this is the one to use, since contrary to waterproof blankets or fireproof blankets it's not useful for anything else.

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. One is generated at the Goblin Camp.
