The deluxe version of the game offers several options to customize the game. Games played with non-standard options are recorded in a separate high score list.

Corruption[]

On[]

This is the standard setting.

Off[]

This disables background corruption and corruption from gambling in the Casino. The final score is multiplied by 0.5.

Hunger[]

Deadly[]

This is the standard setting.

Off[]

The PC cannot drop below 1000 satiation (above hungry), but otherwise gets hungry normally. The final score is multiplied by 0.25.

Debilitating[]

The PC gets hungry normally, but cannot die from hunger. A "Starved" character's total Strength, Learning, Willpower, and Dexterity scores are reduced by 60%, with Strength suffering a further -2 penalty. The final score is multiplied by 0.4.

Monsters[]

Standard[]

This is the standard setting.

Tough[]

Monster DV is increased by 30%, monster PV is increased by 20%, monster HP is increased by 25%, and monster damage is increased by 20%. Monsters are more likely to hit with attacks. The final score is multiplied by 1.5.

Wimpy[]

Monster DV is reduced by 30%, monster PV is reduced by 20%, monster HP is reduced by 30%, and monster damage is reduced by 20%. Monsters are less likely to hit with attacks. The final score is multiplied by 0.25.

Death[]

Permanent[]

This is the standard setting.

Reloadable games[]

Saves are not deleted when the PC dies. The final score is multiplied by 0.12.

Fortunes[]

Many[]

Monsters are more likely to drop random loot. Special drops, such as gear from chaos knights and treasure from dragons, are unaffected. The final score is multiplied by 0.5.

Few[]

Monsters are less likely to drop random loot. Special drops, such as gear from chaos knights and treasure from dragons, are unaffected. Drops from vault monsters are affected. The final score is multiplied by 1.5.

Balance[]

Unmodified[]

This is the standard setting.

Advantaged[]

Rolls are supposedly fudged in the PC's favor. The final score is multiplied by 0.6.

Pampered[]

The PC starts with more HP. The PC is protected from being killed from full health once per monster. Rolls are supposedly fudged in the PC's favor. The final score is multiplied by 0.3.

Talents[]

Player selected[]

This is the standard setting.

None[]

The PC will not get any talents. The final score is multiplied by 1.1.

Predefined[]

The PC's talents will be automatically taken from a predefined class-specific list. The final score is multiplied by 1.05.
