Natural regeneration is the measure of how long it takes a PC to recover HP or PP.

Regeneration rates depend on many factors, with race generally being the most dominant one. There are some means of altering the number of turns required for natural regeneration in game. A PC's regeneration rates can be revealed by a potion of insight or the Revelation spell.

Certain class powers of Healers, Bards and Druids are described as allowing the PC to recover HP or PP at double/thrice the usual rate. These class powers affect the amount of HP/PP recovered per natural regeneration, not the frequency of regeneration.

Additional factors[edit | edit source]

  • The number of turns required may be slightly decreased based on the PC's starting Toughness score.
  • Healers start with half the normal number of turns required.
  • Drinking a non-cursed potion of troll blood reduces the number of turns required. Drinking a cursed potion of troll blood increases them. The number of turns cannot be decreased lower than 5 or increased higher than 100 with these items.
  • Eating a trollish monster can reduce the number of turns required. Normal trolls cannot reduce the number of turns lower than 6, and antediluvian trolls cannot reduce the number of turns lower than 5.
  • Having the 'Healthy' talent reduces the number of turns required by 20% (not factored into the potion of insight output).
  • Wearing a non-cursed necklace of rapid healing reduces the number of turns required (not factored into the potion of insight output). It cannot reduce the number of turns required lower than 2.
  • Being sick greatly decreases the PC's HP regeneration rate (not factored into the potion of insight output).

  • Drinking a non-cursed potion of raw mana reduces the number of turns required; drinking a cursed potion increases them. The number of turns cannot be reduced lower than 5 or higher than 100 with these items.
