|Sees in the dark?||No|
As of r86, master thieves are no longer found randomly, and cannot be wished for.
Master thief is a type of monster in ADOM. They are rare opponents whose attacks penetrate armor, though in a melee battle they will often spend their turns trying to steal the PC's gold. They are very evasive, and the PC should be careful not to underestimate them in a fight.
All gold stolen by a monster is carried by that monster and can be reclaimed by killing it, except (as of 1.2.0) when it disappears, as indicated by the message "The (monster) chuckles with hateful glee as the god of thieves immediately takes his share!"
A named master thief, Yergius, can be found in Lawenilothehl. Playing a different role to regular master thieves that barely talk to the PC at all, Yergius trains members of his guild in some nice skills.
Special abilities[edit source]
Level: 1, DV: 32, PV: 7, Hits: 85, Attacks: 2, Damage: 10-15. Speed: 100.
Corpse effects[edit source]
Master thieves don't seem to leave corpses.
Dressed in soft, dark clothing, this person moves like a cat, but with less noise. The fine cut of the clothes that seem to fade in and out of vision attest to the wealth stolen by this thief of thieves.
