Long spears are a type of weapon that first appeared in ADOM version 1.2.0. Prior to this, only the artifact Soaker was identified as a "long spear". They are two handed weapons that belong in the Polearms weapon class.

All long spears grant a DV bonus of +1 whilst wielded. Iron long spears have typical stats of (+1, 1d12), whilst eternium long spears have typical stats of (+1, 2d12+7).


Desirability[edit source]

They are somewhat decent weapons, though being two-handed they lose out on the defensive benefits of wielding a weapon with a shield. In fact, large hammers of the same metals are more powerful and can be wielded with a shield. Being a polearm, however, over time they can still grant good DV bonuses none the less. Halberds and two-handed swords — which are also two-handed — are still far superior in terms of damage.
