The jet-black glaive "Long Sting" is a random artifact in ADOM. It has base stats of (+4, 7d3) [+4, +0], and a variety of other helpful bonuses. It has a stellar to-hit rating and actually deals more damage if thrown, but doesn't return, so you can't throw it more than once per fight.

Desirability[]

While it is a nice enough weapon, there are likely to be other weapons with better melee damage before long. A regular eternium spear for instance is definitely superior, and can be used with a shield. Long Sting is not particularly sought after for the reason that there are other, much more powerful artifact weapons.

It can be granted by precrowning, or found randomly like most loot (very rarely, of course). As an artifact, it cannot be wished for, however random loot generation methods will work. It is a possible crowning gift for Fighters and Farmers.
