Lightning vortices are monsters in ADOM. Like all vortices, the only attack they possess is to close to melee distance and explode; in their case, this causes a lightning ball. Note that lightning vortices are much faster than an average PC, and can often even chase down characters wearing seven league boots.
Like all vortices, the message "You hear a distant wind" will be displayed on any level where a Lightning vortex is present.
