Knock is a utility spell in ADOM. It allows the caster to magically open a closed or a locked door without setting off traps if there are any. Knock can be targeted on any door in the PC's immediate vicinity. It can also be used on undiscovered secret doors directly.

Knock is a great starting spell for Wizards, Priests and Necromancers with low starting Toughness (especially Mist Elves) as door traps are sufficiently dangerous for these characters in the early game. Knock retains a degree of its usefulness up until the end game as a means to reduce item destruction.


Knock doesn't depend on any attribute due to its fixed effect. Spell proficiency likewise doesn't improve anything except spell cost (standard for all spells).
