Horn of plenty ( ] )
Item Type Tool
Artifact? Yes
Weight 40s
Danger Level N/A
Material Nonmetallic

The horn of plenty is one of two possible artifacts dropped by the fungoid overlord. When activated, it generates a variety of random food items on the PC's tile, and sometimes a potion of water as well. The food items may include a random monster corpse. If the horn is blessed and the PC is standing on a suitable tile, a patch of herbs will also be created at the PC's feet. While equipped in the tool slot, it increases the PC's luck. It appears as a horn when unidentified.

Even though potions of water are only generated on some uses, this remains a very powerful ability. The ability to generate herbs and food can also be fairly useful. The food sometimes includes raw or fresh meat, which can be useful if the PC encounters a cat. With its passive luck bonus, the horn of plenty is likely to be the most helpful item that can be equipped in the tool slot prior to acquiring the chaos orbs.
