Helm of
water breathing
( [ )
Item Type Helmet
Artifact? No
Weight 30s
Danger Level 10
Material Iron

Helms of water breathing are a rare type of headgear which grant the ability to breathe water while worn. They have typical stats of [+0, +1], although variations from these numbers are common. Unlike most other items made of iron, they are inherently rustproof.

Helms of water breathing appear as blue metal caps when unidentified.

Water breathing intrinsic is typically useful during prolonged "swimming" sessions (in dungeon rivers or in the Water Dragon Cave) and can be effectively replaced by the actual Swimming skill when the PC needs to deal with water for several turns. Thus, helms of water breathing are unlikely to be worn continuously.

Guaranteed/Common sources[]

Helms of water breathing can be found in the same ways as any generic loot. A source of water breathing is guaranteed to be generated on the bottom level of the Rift dungeon (thus, a helm of water breathing has a 50% chance to appear there).
