Ghost is a type of monster in ADOM. Ghosts are most notable for their melee attack, that causes the PC to age by a few years; whilst harmless to long-lived races like elves, this can pose some concern to short-lived races like Orcs and Trolls.
As incorporeal beings ghosts can also pass through solid walls, resist Telekinetic Blasts and float over floor traps. Despite their ability to levitate, ghosts will not try to cross rivers.

Monster memory[]
This incorporeal undead creature is greatly feared, as its very appearance can freeze opponents in their tracks. Their touch drains the life from an opponent so swiftly that the afflicted is instantly aged, potentially unto death. The lack of a physical body allows them to pass through solid structure and makes them more difficult to damage.
Alternative description
Seeming to be there, yet not, the ghost glides silently along. The unfortunate soul of some poor adventurer, who fell long before you came to accomplish what he did not, it moans a horrible wail in its eternal suffering. Not admitting that it no longs.. exists in our realm, a blow can damage it, unfortunately, the same works in reverse.
