Frost salamanders are rare monsters that start to randomly appear only later in the game (although they can easily be found in the Ice Queen Domain and the Frost Giant Jarl Caves). They are immune to cold-based attacks but highly vulnerable to fire.
Frost salamanders possess a unique frost aura which will damage every hostile creature in its immediate vicinity.

Level: 1, DV: 18, PV: 14, Hits: 79, Attacks: 3, Damage: 11-32. Speed: 100.
Corpse effects[]
Eating a frost salamander always reduces Dexterity by 1. If the PC does not have cold immunity (intrinsically or from items), the corpse also has a small chance to reduce speed by 5 and grant intrinsic cold immunity. This is signified by the following message — "Your body temperature seems to drop permanently."
Besides receiving cold immunity as a crowning boon, eating a frost salamander is the only way to gain this intrinsic. That said, cold immunity is arguably the least useful elemental immunity, and it can be very costly to acquire it in this way.
Monster memory[]
This slender type of salamander is almost 15 feet in length. It moves with a swinging gait and evicts ice cold that freezes everything to death if it comes too close to his alien monstrosity. Surely not a being of this plane it must have slipped through some dimensional rift and now tries to turn the whole world into a freezing hell of extraterrestrial origin.
