The fencing gloves of St. Montojja are artifact gauntlets that first appeared in ADOM v 1.2.0.
Wearing the gloves provide a +12 bonus to both Dexterity and speed; as well as resistances to confusion and stunning.
In their unidentified form they appear as gloves; though seeing as they are presumably only generated by crowning, it should be obvious to the player they are an artifact and not just ordinary gloves.
Desirability[]
The defensive bonuses of the gloves alone makes them certainly the best pair of gauntlets in the game; whilst Shezestriakis provides far more DV, its penalties to to-hit really spoil such bonus. The speed and dexterity bonuses the gloves of St. Montojja also supply makes them further desirable for any PC. Depending on the situation, though, some may prefer to wear the elemental gauntlets for the resistances they provide.
Guaranteed/Common sources[]
It is a possible crowning gift for Duelists. It is not yet known if they can be generated for other PCs in the same ways as 'random artifacts'.

The gloves are actually blessed fencing gloves of St. Montojja [+6, +3] {Dx+12}
(+12 spd).
It is an artifact.
When worn they modify DV by +6 and PV by +3.
When used in melee combat it grants a +0 bonus to hit and causes 1d1
points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a +0 bonus to hit
and causes 1d1 points of damage.
It modifies your dexterity attribute by +12.
It modifies your speed by +12.
It grants resistance to stunning.
It grants resistance to confusion attacks.

The name is a reference to Inigo Montoya, the master swordsman from The Princess Bride.
