The Chaos Orb of Elemental Mana is a guaranteed artifact in ADOM, and one of the five Orbs that are mandatory for completing the game. As such, it can't be sold or lost by any means (e.g. attempting to sacrifice it or leave it in the Infinite Dungeon or wilderness).
Whilst worn in the Tool slot, the Chaos Orb of Elemental Mana raises the PC's Mana by 10. When 'U'sed it replenishes the PC's PP, increases Mana by 3, and increases maximum PP by 10 (independent of Mana); though doing so adds 5000 corruption points to the PC (2500 with the elemental gauntlets equipped). Note that whilst it can also be used as a weapon, wielding it as such won't confer a Mana bonus.
Desirability[]
It is compulsory to obtain this item to complete the game. Its bonus of 10 to Mana is of obvious use to PCs that rely on casting spells.
