The ebony spear "Bugbiter" is an artifact in ADOM. In ADOM v 1.1.1 and some earlier versions, the artifact can only be generated by crowning.
Bugbiter slays insects, and grants a +3 bonus to Dexterity whilst wielded. In its unidentified form, it appears as an ebony spear.
Desirability[]
Whilst not one of the best weapons in the game, its damage potential is still good for a one handed weapon; and, as a polearm, can potentially offer huge DV bonuses when wielded with a shield.
Guaranteed/Common sources[]
It is a possible crowning gift for Rangers.
As of v. 1.2.0 it can also be granted as a precrowning gift or a reward for making use of a potion of uselessness; generated in a surge of power or greater vault; or generated as random loot (albeit very rarely).
