Bracers of resistance grant resistance to fire, cold, shock, death and sleep attacks. They always have stats of [+0, +0], but can be improved with smithing or enhanced with certain scrolls.
As with every other item, they cannot be damaged by the elements they grant resistance to, but they are vulnerable to rusting and acid.
Desirability[]
Considerable. While elemental resistances can usually be taken care of using the elemental gauntlets and the ring of the High Kings, they stack, to the point that triple resistance is for all practical purposes indistinguishable from immunity. The death ray resistance is arguably the most useful property - it precludes the need to wear an amulet of death ray resistance in the valuable amulet slot, or the ancient mummy wrapping, before encounters with enemies wielding death rays.
Bracers of resistance are especially popular with players that make heavy use of smithing, to the point that some will consider wishing for them.

Same as all loot. As of 1.2.0, the player can wish for "pairs of bracers of resistance" to get spares.
