Bracers of protection provide a bonus to PV while equipped. The base value for this bonus is +2 but variations are possible (even as far as causing a negative effect on PV).
Bracers of protection cannot be improved with smithing.
Desirability[]
In the early game they are fairly useful, as every point of PV makes a large difference. However during the mid-to-late game, they become less useful as better bracers are found.
Guaranteed/Common sources[]
They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. Drakelings of some classes start with bracers of protection.

-------------------- uncursed bracers of protection [+0, +2]------------------- When worn it modifies DV by +0 and PV by +2. When used in melee combat it grants a +0 bonus to hit and causes 1d1 points of damage. When used as a missile it grants a +0 bonus to hit and causes 1d1 points of damage.
