Bones are one of the basic types of food in ADOM. When eaten, they grant a certain very small amount of satiation that depends on their B/U/C status. See the Satiation Value table below for details.
Bones can also be used to heal skeletons (1d6 HP per bone given) and tame dogs.
Desirability[]
Food of some type is required in ADOM to ward off starvation and death. While bones can prevent those in an emergency, their real, if obscure, use is to cheaply obtain pets without the Music skill that can kill cats for you or for necromancers to heal their slaves.

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. Skeleton enemies in particular drop them with high frequency.
